The Hobbit

This is going straight onto my favorites shelf. J.R.R. Tolkien clearly knows what they're doing.

Middling read for me. J.R.R. Tolkien has talent, but this one didn't fully click.

Liked more than I disliked here. J.R.R. Tolkien has a clear voice.

Went in with low expectations and came out completely won over. J.R.R. Tolkien nailed it.

Enjoyed The Hobbit overall - a solid, well-paced fantasy read.

Perfect comfort reread. I go back to this every year around the holidays.

Reads like a bedtime story that occasionally remembers it's an epic. Tolkien having fun before he got serious with Rings.

Slighter than the trilogy but charming start to finish. Smaug alone is worth the read.

My childhood favorite, still holds up completely. Bilbo remains the most relatable hero in fantasy.
